English Leaning from Radio Australia

Lesson 3: Make yourself at home
PELAJARAN 3: MEMBIASAKAN DIRI

Jenny: Katie. Welcome! I’m Jenny.
L1: Katie. Selamat datang! Saya Jenny.
Katie: Hi Jenny. Nice to meet you!
L1: Hai Jenny. Senang bertemu anda!
Jenny: How was your trip?
L1: Bagaimana perjalanannya?
Katie: It was fine, thanks.
L1: Baik, terima kasih.
Jenny: Well, come in… Oh, you don’t have to take your shoes off here.
L1: Well, silahkan masuk… Oh tidak usah lepas sepatu disini..
Katie: Oh. It’s a lovely home.
L1: Oh. Rumahnya bagus.
Jenny: Thanks. Would you like me to show you around or would you like a cuppa first?
L1: Terima kasih. Mau saya ajak keliling dulu atau mau minum dulu?
Katie: No, I had tea on the plane. Thanks anyway. I’d like to see the house if you don’t mind.
L1: Saya tadi minum teh di pesawat. Tapi terimakasih. Saya ingin melihat rumah, kalau boleh.
Jenny: Sure. Well, this is the living room… the kitchen.
L1: Tentu saja. Well, ini ruang tamu ….. dapur.
Jenny: And this is Sushi. She’s my son Dylan’s, dog.
L1: Dan ini Sushi, anjingnya Dylan, anak saya.
Katie: Oh.
Jenny: Down, Sushi, down girl. She’s very friendly. She’s like a member of the family.
L1: Turun Sushi, turun. Ia ramah sekali. Ia sudah seperti anggota keluarga.
Katie: I see.
L1: Oh ya.
Jenny: My room and Dylan’s room are at the end of the hall.
And this is your room. Everything’s here, bed, desk, wardrobe. Oh, and that basket’s for your washing.
Katie: What a lovely view of the garden.
L1: Pemandangan ke kebunnya indah sekali.
Jenny: I’m glad you like it. Now, if you want to freshen up, the bathroom is the next door down.
L1: Syukur deh kamu suka.
Katie: Yes, that’d be great, thanks.
L1: Ya, baik, terima kasih.
Katie: Is there anywhere I can put my case after I’ve unpacked?
L1: Dimana saya dapat menyimpan koper setelah saya keluarkan isinya nanti.
Jenny: Good question. We can store it in the garage until you need it again. Now, just make yourself at home.
Sekarang, anggap saja rumah sendiri.
Katie: Thanks.
L1: Terima kasih.
Jenny: Anything else you want to know?
L1: Ada lagi yang ingin ditanyakan?
Katie: Yes, I’d like to have a shower. Where do I find a towel?
L1: Ya, saya ingin mandi. Handuknya dimana, ya?
Jenny: Oh, yes. They’re in the cupboard in the bathroom. Just hang it on the towel rack to dry when you’ve finished. You can use the same one for a few days. It saves washing them every day. We’re very water conscious here.
Kami sangat hati-hati memakai air disini.
Katie: Sorry, I didn’t catch all that.
L1: Aduh, saya tidak bisa menangkap semua tadi.
Jenny: Sorry. Here, come with me and I’ll show you. We’ll be having dinner in about an hour when Dylan gets home. Just yell out if you need anything.
L1: Maaf. Panggil saya saja kalau kamu perlu sesuatu.
Katie: Ah… OK, thanks.
L1: Ah…OK, terimakasih.
Jenny: Oh, where are you taking the basket?
L1: Oh mau dibawa kemana keranjang itu ?
Katie: To the bathroom, for washing.
L1: Ke kamar mandi, untuk cuci pakaian.
Jenny: Oh, no, it’s for your dirty clothes. We call dirty clothes “washing” here. Don’t worry. You’ll soon get the hang of things.
L1: Oh, jangan, itu untuk pakaian kotor. Disini kita menyebut pakaian kotor “washing”. Jangan kuatir. Kamu akan segera terbiasa disini.

# L1: Oh ya.
English: I see.
L1: Bagus sekali rumahnya.
English: What a lovely home.
L1: Bagus sekali ruangannya.
English: What a great room.
L1: Saya mau mandi-mandi dulu, kalau boleh.
English: I’d like to freshen up, if that’s OK.
L1: Saya ingin istirahat, kalau anda tidak keberatan.
English: I’d like to rest, if you don’t mind.
L1: Saya agak lapar, tidak apa-apa kan.
English: I’m feeling a little hungry, if that’s OK.
L1: Baik, terima kasih.
English: That’d be great thanks.
L1: Ya, saya mau, terima kasih.
English: Yes, I’d like that, thank you.
L1: Handuknya dimana?

L1: Dimana saya bisa menaruh koper saya ?

L1: Bisa tolong ajari saya bagaimana menggunakan pemanas?
